We live in a humid area. How can we protect the shed from mold and mildew in constant shade? Moderna 10 x 10 modern shed kit | 80 sq ft

Our vinyl fence is partly in the shade and gets green mildew on it every few weeks where the sun doesn't shine. We want to place the shed in a partly shaded area and are concerned the wood will gave the same problem.

The would should be sealed using a product that's specifically designed for exterior wood. Paint and polyurethane offer the best surface protection, oil-based stain would follow next. We do not recommend water-based stain for humid areas. All exterior wood sealants give protection against mold and mildew. Nothing beats good ventilation though! Placing the shed on an elevated base, such as pressure treated wood frame or concrete blocks, gives a lift off the ground and allows air circulation under the structure.
