Can the walls support a mounted television or is that a bad idea?

Just wanting to know if the walls (without a window) could support a mounted television and what the overall threshold would be in terms of putting weight on a wall.

Mounting a TV on the wall would be no issue. Book shelves or similar heavy items should be hung using L brackets that help disperse weight vertically across several boards. Something as heavy as kitchen cabinets can be hung using French cleats as this maintains the whole back side of the cabinet against the wall surface.
