The Optima shed, as shipped, is rated for winds up to 75 mph. For areas like Louisiana that require 150 mph wind resistance, the standard kit doesn't meet code out of the box. However, some customers have worked with local structural engineers to add reinforcements, such as hurricane straps and additional bracing, to bring the shed up to local requirements. This process usually involves a local engineer reviewing the shed plans and specifying upgrades to meet your parish's code, and then submitting those plans for permit approval.
We don't provide pre-engineered documentation for 150 mph wind zones, so you'll need to check with your local building department and likely work with a Louisiana-licensed engineer if you want to use the Optima shed for a permitted structure.
